Keighley Cougars earned the first silverware of the season as they defeated York 22-18 to win the iPro Sport Cup.
Charlie Martin’s late winner secured victory for the Cougars, who had fallen behind minutes beforehand after James Moreland’s try had given York the lead.
In truth, the Cougars controlled the majority of the game taking a 16-6 lead following tries through Paul White, Rikki Sheriffe and John Oakes after Jack Aldous had put York ahead.
However, Jonny Presley’s try 20 minutes from time, followed by Moreland’s score on the left, gave York the lead.
But the Cougars snatched it late on, with the brilliant Paul Handforth kicking through for Martin to secure victory.
