Have Leigh already made their first big name signing for 2017?

It’s only been two days since Leigh Centurions secured their Super League return, but they are already being linked with one player that will make people take notice.

According to the new edition of League Express, the Centurions have landed a deal to sign St Helens second-rower Atelea Vea for their first season back in the new flight.

The 29-year-old is currently in his second season at Saints, having signed for the club from London Broncos following their relegation to the Championship.

Vea, a former Cronulla, Melbourne and St George player, is thought to be one of the four signings Derek Beaumont confirmed the club had made following their promotion to.

Meanwhile, Leigh hero Martyn Ridyard has spoken to League Express about helping his side to promotion, and how he felt after he was dropped from the club’s matchday lineup for a spell earlier in the season.
