Manning ruled out for the season

Halifax will be without Dane Manning for the rest of the season after breaking his thumb for a second time this season.

Fax’s star back-rower, widely regarded as one of the best forwards in the Championship, missed a crucial two-month period for Halifax in their failed attempt to make the top four.

The 27-year-old returned to action two weeks ago, but will now miss the rest of the season.

“It’s a blow for us,” Marshall told TotalRL.

“He’s a big player for us and everyone knows that, and he has helped us in our return to winning ways recently. Hopefully with the help of the medical staff he can get this sorted and be raring to go for next season.”
