MIDLANDS HURRICANES fielded a new-look halfback pairing during their 16-16 draw with Workington last time out, with Ethan Newboult making his league debut alongside Sully Medforth.
And coach Mark Dunning liked what he saw from the duo, explaining: “I was really pleased with both of them.
“We picked up an injury to Callum McLelland in training during the week and Jake Sweeting did put his hand up to play, but he wasn’t quite ready and we’re not going to risk players to injury at this stage of the season.
“So it was a case of the next cab off the rank and Ethan jumped in there and did a really really good job for us.”
