SWINTON LIONS coach Paul Wood hailed Dan Abram after the playmaker totted up his 600th point for the club.
The 29-year-old fullback, halfback or hooker is heading into his fourth season with the Sale side after moving from Oldham, and according to Swinton, reached the milestone during the 18-16 loss at Rochdale, another former club, in preliminary round two of the 1895 Cup.
Having also played for Barrow and Whitehaven, Abram seems to have found a home at Heywood Road.
Wood says he can play a big part in the new campaign after having a “difficult conversation” with him.
“I’m really proud of Dan. I had an honest chat with him at the beginning of the year and he got squad number 19,’ said Wood.
“He has given me a response and it is such a good example of how I would expect a senior player to react.
“He has worked his socks off and his self-belief and confidence are coming back.
“Dan has done a lot in the game, and his attitude in the last few months has been absolutely fantastic.
“He will score plenty more points this season and will play a massive part in our year.”
