Milestones: Super League Round 21

Round 21 of the 2014 Super League season got underway in dramatic fashion last night, as Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers played out a stunning 24-24 draw. But there is still plenty of action left in the tank this weekend, as six more games take place – with some pivotal games in store.

Bradford’s relegation to the Championship could be confirmed if they lose at Huddersfield, whilst we could yet end the weekend with a new side on top of the tree. Widnes’ place in the top eight will be put to the test again, as the chasing pack continue to breathe down their neck.

And in and amongst all of the madness that is sure to take place, there are plenty of milestones Super League (and Championship) players can hit this weekend. Let’s take a look at them.

PLAYER MILESTONES
Louis Anderson needs one appearance to reach 150 whilst in the British game. Anderson has played 44 games for Catalan Dragons since 2012, and was previously with Warrington (104 games, 2008-2011). He has also represented The Exiles (1 game, 2011).

Rhys Hanbury needs one appearance to reach 100 whilst in the British game. Hanbury has played 69 games for Widnes since 2012, and was previously with Crusaders (30 games, 2010-2011).

Paul McShane needs one appearance to reach 100 for his career. McShane has played for Leeds Paul-McShane(63 games, 2009-2013), Hull FC (4 loan games, 2010), Widnes (11 loan games, 2012), Hunslet (1 dual-registration game, 2013) and current club Wakefield (20 games, 2014).

Mark Flanagan needs one appearance to reach 100 for his career. Flanagan has played club rugby for Halifax (9 loan games, 2008), Wigan (11 games, 2009), Wests Tigers (27 games, 2010-2011), Rochdale (3 dual-registration games, 2014) and current club St Helens (48 games, 2012-2014). He has also represented England Knights (1 game, 2012).

Jamie Foster needs eight points to reach 1,000 for his career. His total of 992 has been scored as follows: 618 for St Helens (2010-2012 – 34 tries, 241 goals), 110 for Hull FC (2012 – 5 tries, 45 goals) and 264 for Bradford (2013-2014 – 14 tries, 104 goals).

Paul Sykes needs seven goals to reach 500 for his career. His total of 493 conversions and penalties has been scored as follows: 75 for Bradford (1999-2000, 2002 & 2008-2012), 286 for London Broncos/Harlequins (2001-2007), 126 for Wakefield (2012-2014) and 6 for England (2009). He has also made representative appearances for Great Britain and England ‘A’ – but didn’t kick any goals in those games.

Leon Pryce needs two tries to reach 200 career touchdowns. His total of 198 has been scored as follows: 94 for Bradford (1998-2005), 73 for St Helens (2006-2011), 20 for Catalan Dragons (2012-2014), 5 for Great Britain (2001-2002 & 2005-2007), 3 for England (1999-2001 & 2008) and 3 for Yorkshire (2001-2003).

Jermaine McGillvary needs four tries to reach a career century of touchdowns. His total of 96 has been scored as follows: 22 for Batley (2008-2009), 8 for Barrow (2010) and 66 for Huddersfield (2010-2014). McGillvary also needs one appearance to reach 150 for his career. His total of 149 has been reached as follows: 30 for Batley, 11 for Barrow, 107 for Huddersfield and 1 for England Knights (2012).

Danny Tickle needs seven goals to reach 1,000 for his career (conversions and penalties only). His total of 993 has been scoredWidnes-Wolves-Tickle as follows: 100 for Halifax, 217 for Wigan, 571 for Hull FC, 68 for Widnes and 37 for England ‘A’.

Gareth Moore needs eleven points to reach 1,000 for his career. His total of 989 has been scored as follows: 8 for Halifax (2009 – 1 try, 2 goals), 24 for York (2009 – 6 tries), 33 for Wakefield (2011 – 1 try, 14 goals, 1 field goal), 784 for Batley (2010-2011 & 2012-2013 – 41 tries, 308 goals, 4 field goals), 132 for Featherstone (2014 – 3 tries, 60 goals) and 8 for Scotland (2009 – 1 try, 2 goals).

Andy Ballard needs two tries to reach a career century of touchdowns. His total of 98 has been scored as follows: 11 for Salford (2008), 17 for Oldham (2009), 62 for Barrow (2009-2012) and 8 for current club Hunslet (2014). He also made three non-scoring appearances for Swinton (2013).

Richie Barnett needs one try to reach a career century of touchdowns. His total of 99 has been scored as follows: 12 for Gateshead (2002-2003), 22 for Hull FC (2004-2005), 2 for Widnes (2005, loan), 18 for Warrington (2006-2007), 4 for Salford (2007), 5 for Sheffield (2010), 6 for Hunslet (2011), 29 for current club Keighley (2012-2014) and 1 for the National League Two representative side (2003).

Will Sharp needs one appearance to reach 150 for his career. Sharp has played for Harlequins (70 games, 2008-2010), Hull FC (39 games, 2011-2012) and current club Featherstone (40 games, 2013-2014).

CLUB MILESTONES
Chris Bridge needs 15 points to reach 1,000 for Warrington. Bridge’s total of 985 has been reached with 101 tries, 290 goals and 1 field goal in 201 games for the Wolves since 2005.

Paul Wellens needs seven points to reach 1,000 for St Helens. Wellens’ total of 993 has been reached with 228 triePaul-Wellenss, 40 goals and 1 field goal in 481 games for the club since 1998.

Thomas Bosc needs six goals to reach 500 for Catalan Dragons. Bosc has kicked 494 conversions and penalties in 181 games for the Dragons since 2006.

Mike Emmett needs one appearance to reach 100 for Doncaster. Emmett made a try-scoring debut for the club in a 54-10 Northern Rail Cup defeat at Featherstone on 4 February, 2011.

SUPER LEAGUE MILESTONES
Paul Wellens needs three tries to draw level with Keith Senior in second place in the list of all-time leading try-scorers.
