Miners & Bridge rescue RugbyAM for Saturday’s televised match

THIS week’s televised game in the Kingstone Press National Conference League is the Division One `derby’ between Leigh Miners Rangers and Ince Rose Bridge.

The match replaces the original choice of Hunslet Club Parkside v Kells, which has been ruled out for logistical reasons.

The kick-off time of 5.15pm required by FreeSports and RugbyAM, through their commitment to televising an ice hockey fixture involving Great Britain, created insurmountable major problems for Hunslet, who have an event booked at their clubhouse, and for Kells, whose squad would not have arrived back in Cumbria until midnight.

NCL Administrator Alan Smith said: “Thankfully Leigh Miners Rangers and Ince Rose Bridge offered to take the fixture on Saturday 7 April on, despite them both having to facilitate big events in their respective clubs.

“The NCL really do appreciate the efforts of both Rose Bridge and Leigh Miners in their willingness to get the game on for TV.

“Now we look forward to the game and the great TV coverage that is being provided by FreeSport and Rugby AM.”
