My Top Three: Hull FC’s Marc Sneyd

In the next of our exclusive series on TotalRL.com, Hull FC half-back is the latest Super League star to select his favourite three players in his position. The likes of Craig Huby have taken a stab at it in the past – but now it’s Sneyd’s turn to tell us who the three half-backs are he enjoys watching more than any others..

1 Darren Lockyer (1995-2011)Darren Lockyer
Teams played for: Brisbane Broncos, Queensland, Australia
Sneyd says: “In my eyes he’s the best half-back there has ever been, simple as that. There can’t be another half that’s played Rugby League that has been as good as Lockyer; he was a complete player for both club and country.”

2 Danny Brough (2004-present)Danny-Brough-Giants
Teams played for: York, Hull FC, Castleford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, England, Scotland
Sneyd says: “I really do like watching Danny Brough, with him being a left-footed kicker like myself it’s nice to watch other halves play that way. He’s definitely someone I model myself on with a perfect left foot, and he plays the game so well. I really enjoy seeing him play the game.”

3 Brett Kimmorley (1995-2010)Brett Kimmorley
Teams played for: Newcastle, Hunter Mariners, Melbourne, Northern Eagles, Cronulla, Canterbury, New South Wales, Australia
Sneyd says: “The last one is quite tough to pick out really, but when I was younger I used to absolutely love watching Brett Kimmorley in Australia. I remember him playing for Cronulla; he was great to watch because he was quite small, but he was really feisty and he loved getting stuck in, despite only being a half-back!”
