Hull Kingston Rovers have confirmed that Neville Costigan has resigned from his contract with the club and will remain in Australia for personal reasons.
Costigan signed a two-year deal with the Robins last year, playing 22 games in his first season with the club.
He had previously played for Papua New Guinea in last year’s World Cup, captaining the side throughout the tournament.
However, the former Brisbane and Newcastle star will now not be heading back for pre-season with the club, leaving the Rovers a forward short as they prepare to start preparations for the new season in February.
