NRL: Nathan Brown heavily linked with Wests Tigers job

St Helens coach Nathan Brown has emerged as one of the favourites to take over from Mick Potter at Wests Tigers next season, according to the Daily Telegraph in Australia.

Reports indicate former Catalan and Bradford boss Potter is unlikely to be given a deal for next season following the Wests’ disappointing 13th place finish in this year’s NRL.

Saints boss Brown is said to have lots of support at the Sydney club and is being considered as one of three main targets alongside Anthony Griffin (a former Brisbane boss) and Jason Taylor (an assistant at Sydney Roosters) should the position become vacant.

The 41-year-old, who has not yet been contacted about the role, has a year left on his contract with the Super League table toppers but it includes a clause that allows him an early exit should an NRL offer be made.

What do you think, Saints fans? Would you be sad to see him go?
