Wigan Warriors captain Sean O’Loughlin is aiming to feature in the club’s pre-season friendly against St Helens this weekend.
O’Loughlin missed the club’s 18-14 defeat to Leigh after his wife gave birth last weekend – but would have missed that game anyway due to a training ground injury.
However, Wane admits O’Loughlin and centre Anthony Gelling could well feature in the local derby this Sunday.
“In an ideal world they’d get a hit-out before the first Super League game, we’ll see how they are later in the week,” said Wane.
“But I’m hoping both Lockers and Gelling are okay to play.”
