WAKEFIELD TRINITY have been awarded a 48-0 victory over Salford Red Devils following last Sunday’s cancelled Super League fixture.
The RFL Board has made the verdict in line with its operational rules, as well as “taking into account the circumstances behind Salford’s cancellation of the fixture, and the advanced stage of the Betfred Super League season.”
The Red Devils stated that they had only two senior players who have featured at Super League level over the last 12 months available and asked for the cancellation on player welfare grounds.
Salford have confirmed that this Friday’s clash at Leigh Leopards will go ahead, with coach Paul Rowley having enough players to form a squad.
They have been boosted by the addition of four loanees – Neil Tchmambe (Wakefield Trinity), Jack Darbyshire (Leigh Leopards), Louix Gorman and Leon Ruan (both Hull KR).
