Castleford Panthers have withdrawn from the Kingstone Press Cider National Conference League.
Panthers confirmed the inevitable last night, having failed to fulfil last Saturday’s Division Three fixture at Drighlington – their second `blob’ in recent weeks.
The team’s results have been expunged from the 2016 table.
Panthers were propping up the bottom tier, with just two wins – against Eastmoor Dragons and Waterhead Warriors – in 14 games.
Both of those teams have benefited in the amended table, although they remain in fourth and eighth positions respectively.
Oldham St Anne’s, meanwhile, have leapfrogged Dewsbury Moor into sixth place – just outside the play-offs cut – in the only shift in the standings. Oldham’s scheduled trip to Panthers on Saturday is, of course, cancelled.
