Paul Rowley makes future admission following Salford Red Devils issues

PAUL ROWLEY has admitted that the on going crisis at Salford Red Devils has meant that things are having to be reconsidered concerning his future.

Rowley is set to head up the director of rugby role at the Salford Community Stadium at the end of the season, with current assistant Kurt Haggerty becoming number one.

However, with Salford embroiled in financial issues from the end of last year, it has meant that the Red Devils’ squad has been completely decimated whilst fears about late payments continue to haunt all staff at the club.

Now Rowley, who took the Red Devils to the Super League semi-final play-offs last season, has admitted that the current situation proves that rugby league futures can be vulnerable.

“It most definitely means things are reconsidered because it just shows you how vulnerable you can be in the workplace,” Rowley said.

“I take every day as it comes and don’t think too far ahead. I deal with the immediate for now.

“I’m just dealing with every day as it comes, I’ve got no plans as it stands.”

The Red Devils have lost the likes of Chris Hankinson and Chris Hill in the last week, whilst further departures are expected.
