Jamie Peacock has revealed he almost signed a part-time playing contract at Toronto ahead of his move to Hull KR.
The former Leeds Rhinos player joined Rovers as their head of rugby following the end of his Rugby League career.
Toronto’s admission into Kingstone Press League One is expected to be announced tomorrow.
“I nearly signed for them for this season and was going to play part-time for them, but it didn’t quite work out,” he told the BBC’s Super League Show.
“I met the guys involved and I could see their passion for it and I could see they had the determination to do it.
“Sometimes in life you need people who are going to get things done no matter what. I think it’s a fantastic idea. It’s great to spread the game.”
