Leeds legend Jamie Peacock was awarded a three-month testimonial by the Rhinos last week, as he gears up to enter his tenth and final season with his boyhood club.

He admits he never thought he’d spend a decade at the top with Leeds when he signed ahead of the 2006 season, and he has revealed that Sam Burgess will play a part in his testimonial plans.

“We’ve been talking about it for a bit really, as I’m coming into my last season of playing and it’s my tenth season at Leeds we’d been speaking for a while – it wasn’t a great surprise to be honest.

“When I moved from Bradford to Leeds I’d been at Bradford nine years as a professional, so I really did think my chances of having a ten-season testimonial with one club had gone. I thought I might play five or six years on the top side, but to play for your hometown club for so long is a dream come true,” he added.

“I’ve got a Christmas dinner in December which will feature a Q&A with myself, Adrian Morley and Sam Burgess. Sam has agreed to do it, which I’m really chuffed about.”
