London Broncos have completed the signing of Papua New Guinea captain Israel Eliab on a one-year deal.
Eliab, 24, had reportedly attracted interest from the NRL after being named in the top ten players in the Queensland Cup competition, gaining selection in that competition’s Team of the Year.
“I’m very much looking forward to joining the Broncos for 2016,” he said.
“It will be a whole new experience for my partner and I but one we are both excited about.
“The opportunity to be a full-time Rugby League player, which will help me develop further, also attracted me.
“I look forward to arriving in London and meeting my new team-mates. Hopefully as a team we will work hard and get back to the Super League.”
