Castleford head coach Daryl Powell was left furious after Ben Westwood’s challenge on Luke Gale went unpunished.
Gale was taken to hospital after a late challenge in the second minute of the game, with the Tigers eventually losing 44-6 to the resurgent Wolves.
“How we can have five officials present, and none of them saw that, is very poor,” said Powell.
“There wasn’t even a penalty given. Play just continued, but Westwood should have been sent off.
“Having said that, the signs were already there that it was going to be Warrington’s day, and the defeat can’t really be put down to the absence of Gale, although he’s central to our game.”
