Daryl Powell was delighted after he saw his side come through a frantic game with Huddersfield.
The Tigers overcame the struggling Giants 38-34 to record just their second victory in six outings.
After moving up to seventh in Super League, Powell stressed the importance of their triumph.
“It’s a massive win,” he said. “I said to (assistant) Danny Orr before the game whether we’d have enough to beat them but we did, just about.
“There’s a couple of clubs who’ve responded well to new coaches such as Wakefield and Hull KR – and the competition is real tight, so it’s an important win.
“It was a crazy game, it was a typical third game of Easter.
“We’ve generally been pretty good in this period but I haven’t been able to rotate like normal. We have 10 guys out and we lost Grant Millington early on, and it’s made it hard for us.”
