MIDLANDS HURRICANES back Todd Horner says it was an “easy decision” to sign a new deal.
The 20-year-old, who followed coach Mark Dunning from Bradford after he took the reins in Birmingham during the 2023 campaign, has put pen to paper on a contract extension to 2026.
Horner scored ten tries in 24 outings last year and said: “My decision to extend my contract was an easy one.
“I’ve worked with Mark Dunning and (assistant) Leigh Beattie for a number of years now. I’m really excited about what this club has to offer and can’t wait to see where we can get to in the future.”
Dunning said: “We’re delighted that Todd has committed his future to the club.
“Having originally signed him 18 months ago as an outside back, we quickly identified his potential to become a quality fullback.
“His impressive development led to his League One Young Player of the Year nomination at the end of last season.
“He has come back full of commitment and determination to build on last year and his hard work and dedication has earned him this new deal.
“He’s a talented young man who has the respect of all the coaching staff and players alike, and we’re excited to see his continued progression.”
