Salford Red Devils have made a play for Harvey Livett.
League Express understands the Hull Kingston Rovers loanee has been in talks with last year’s Grand Finalists about a move to the club next season.
Livett, 23, is on loan with the Robins from Warrington, where he is in the final year of his contract.
Despite being linked with NRL clubs several years ago, Livett hasn’t been afforded regular playing opportunities with the Wolves and was sent out on loan to maximise his playing time.
But with Jack Hughes and Ben Currie, the latter of whom is expected to remain at Warrington next year, both cemented as their first-choice backrowers, Livett is set to leave his hometown club at the end of the year.
The Wolves have a clause in his contract that allows them to extend his deal by another year, though it’s understood they will not activate it.
That’s allowed Salford to make a move for Livett, who can play in a variety of positions including loose-forward, centre, back-row and in the halves.
The Red Devils have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market so far and have been linked with several players, including Danny Addy, Morgan Escaré, Matty Costello and Joe Burgess, while they have also extended Ollie Roberts’ loan deal into next season.
“The plan for now is to play as many games as I can once we can start playing again and I’ll try to get a bit of form in my legs,” Livett said in April.
“When we get playing again we’ll see what comes at the end of it.”
