Rhinos Introduce Novel Way to Thank Twitter Followers

Five lucky Rhinos’ fans will go where no fan has gone before, tomorrow, when the Rhinos take on Wigan in the Dacia Magic Weekend, at Newcastle United’s St James’s Park.

The five were winners in a competition to celebrate Leeds Rhinos becoming the first ever Rugby League club in the world to reach 100,000 followers on Twitter, and the first rugby club of either code in Britain to reach that landmark.

Five pairs of the Leeds’ team’s eye-catching, white and bright green, X Blades, Sniper Sonic Elite, wide fit FG rugby boots have each had one of the 5 fan’s Twitter handles embroidered on them.  Adam Cuthbertson, Ashton Golding, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Anthony Mullally and Brett Ferres will each wear one of the embroidered pairs.

The 5 fans, who also won a pair of tickets each to see their names in action, will be present at St James’s Park to see their names in action.

After the game, which is a re-match of last year’s Grand Final, the players will sign the boots, which will then be presented to the 5 competition winners as a special souvenir of the club’s social media landmark.
