Rugby league agent reveals Castleford Tigers set to sign “four or five” forwards as new recruitment path explained

LEADING rugby league agent, Craig Harrison of Show Me The Money, has revealed that Castleford Tigers are set to sign “four or five” forwards as a new recruitment plan has been outlined.

The Tigers brought in former Wigan Warriors prop Ramon Silva earlier in the week following a spell with Barrow Raiders whilst youngsters such as Fletcher Rooney, Cain Robb and George Hill have already penned long-term deals.

With Castleford’s conveyor belt of youth seemingly grinding to a near stop in recent years, the main focus is now to build from the bottom up, according to Harrison.

Harrison has explained, on The Full Eighty Minutes podcast, that the Tigers’ director of rugby Danny Wilson has laid out a plan that will see youth being favoured – whether those young players are from the Castleford set-up or elsewhere.

“Danny Wilson has made it clear to me that, with the backing of Martin Jepson, they will get four or five young players in from other clubs,” Harrison said on The Full Eighty Minutes podcast.

“(They will be) props, maybe back-rowers and they will develop alongside what Danny is creating.

“They will develop a second tier of young players and when one gets to the top, they will keep filling this tank up.

“If they can develop that tank from their own, they will, but if not they will bring young players in. You will see four or five moves from Cas to fill that tank up.

“Cas will be a very exciting place to be recruiting in the near future in my opinion.”
