Josh Charnley scored a hattrick as Wigan Warriors survived a second half comeback from Salford Red Devils to strengthen their hold on a top four position.
Ryan Sutton’s try and Matty Smith’s drop goal had added to Charnley’s treble as Wigan looked comfortable with a 13 point lead going into the last 15 minutes.
However, the Red Devils hadn’t given up on the game with Josh Jones and Daniel Vidot adding to Michael Dobson’s double to cut the Warriors’ lead.
Salford put severe pressure on the Wigan line but couldn’t make the crucial break through that would have brought them to within two points of the top eight.
