Sam Burgess & Paul Aiton get one-match suspensions

An International Match Review Panel has handed down the following sanctions following Rugby League World Cup 2013 fixtures:
Sam Burgess (England) – one-match suspension for a Grade A high tackle on Sam Thaiday of Australia in the 63rd  minute at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on Saturday October 26;
Paul Aiton (Papua New Guinea) – one match suspension for a Grade A high tackle on Morgan Escare of France in the 76th  minute at Craven Park, Hull, on Sunday October 27.
Both players have until 11.00am on Tuesday October 29 to accept the sanction or lodge an appeal. Any appeal would be heard at an International Disciplinary Tribunal at Red Hall, Leeds, on the evening of Tuesday October 29.
