Sammut in Malta mix for Autumn internationals

Jarrod Sammut is the marquee name in Malta’s 37-man squad for this October’s Autumn internationals against Ireland and Thailand.

The Maltese will play the Ireland with coach Chris Parker in charge, before heading to Thailand to take on a representative side later in the month – and the Workington half-back is included alongside a host of domestic names. Hemel’s Kyal Greene is among the other English-based players involved.

“We have two great internationals this year,” said Parker.

“Ireland are doing great things domestically and if you follow their social media the game is really progressing over there.

“Thailand are pulling out all the stops to put on a show in Chiang Mai and look to be assembling a squad that will test out our boys.”

However, Parker will be unavailable for the trip to Thailand, meaning Peter Cassar will instead be in charge for the game in Chiang Mai.
