Samoan halfback offered to clubs

Super League clubs have been contacted about the opportunity to sign Samoan international Mason Lino.

The 26-year-old is off-contract with Newcastle at the end of the season and is considering a move to Super League.

Capped three times by Samoa, Lino is currently in his second season with the Knights having started his NRL career with the New Zealand Warriors.

Born in Samoa but brought up in Auckland, during four seasons he made 17 appearances before joining Newcastle last year.

He played 12 times last season but has yet to feature this season, with a shoulder injury causing him issues in the off-season.

Lino is the latest player to be offered to Super League clubs from overseas. Benji Marshall is among those to have been touted in Super League circles tough few clubs have dipped into the overseas market so far.
