SWINTON LIONS secondrow Mitch Cox says he is proud to skipper the side this year.
The Lions were relegated last season, with new coach Paul Wood tasked with leading them back to the second tier.
He has handed the armband to the 32-year-old former Leigh player, who has been at Swinton since 2020, and said: “I was co-captain (with Rhys Williams) last season but I’m doing it solo this year.
“I’m proud and looking forward to the challenge. We’ve got a big year ahead and I pride myself on leading through my actions.
“I’m not massive on my words, but I always try and be positive and put my best foot forward.
“Every successful player I have played with or against, you see their hard work and I will always give 100 percent.”
