Thomas on the mend

Wigan St Jude’s player Gareth Thomas is doing fine following his head injury at Thornhill on Saturday.

Thomas was understood to have recovered sufficiently to return home with the rest of the Saints party following the Kingstone Press Cider National Conference League Division Two fixture and Saints official Ken Owen told Totalrl.com on Monday evening: “I have spoken with him and he says he is ok.”

Jude’s, who were 12-10 ahead early in the second half, lost the game 42-18, posting tries by Connor Parkinson, Olumide Oladele, Barry Rothwell and Nathan Bevan, with Thomas adding a goal.

The Trojans registered two tries and five goals for Sam Ratcliffe, a brace for James Craven and touchdowns by Mindaugas Bendikas, Liam Morley, Jake Ratcliffe and Jake Wilson.
