Former Widnes Vikings forward Danny Tickle has played down talks of retirement after his management revealed he is “raring to go” in Super League once again.
The 33-year-old was released by the club on Tuesday evening, with talk over retirement mooted following the announcement.
However, Tickle’s agent Karl Harrison told the Press Association that the former Wigan and Halifax forward is no mood to retire at all, and in fact, they are already in talks with a number of clubs in Super League with a view to playing on.
“Nothing could be further from the truth. He is fit and raring to go,” he told PA Sport.
“He has been training on his own and looks in tremendous condition.
“He will be a tremendous asset for somebody and we are talking to several Super League clubs.”
