Tigers dismiss social media reports

Castleford Tigers have issued a strong response to social media reports regarding forward Oliver Holmes.

Accusations of an incident involving the Tigers forward and the family of young Cas prospect Lewis Carr emerged in the week.

But the Tigers categorically denied the story, which claimed Holmes had been arrested.

When contacted by League Express, a Tigers spokesperson said: “We will not be commenting on unsubstantiated rumours posted on social media and our focus is solely on preparing for the start of the Super League season.”

Neither player was due to be involved in the club’s Boxing Day defeat to Bradford last week, while it’s understood Holmes has been in training with the club this week.
