Titans win in Canberra

In a Nutshell

Gold Coast Titans spent much of the second half defending, but Albert Kelly scord two tries in the closing stages of the game to secure a 12-24 victory against the Raiders in the capital city.

How it unfolded

The Titans opened the scoring on 15 minutes when hooker Beau Falloon caught the Raiders napping from dummy-half, with Greg Bird adding the conversion.
The Raiders drew level when Jarrod Croker touched down a grubber from Glen Buttriss, with Croker converting his own try, and they took the lead just before the interval when Anthony Milford scored and Croker again converted.
The Titans equalised early in the second half when Paul Carter scored from dummy-half, again converted by Bird, and they took the lead with a Bird penalty when Jarrad Kennedy was penalised for a tackle on Albert Kelly.
The Raiders attacked relentlessly, but couldn’t breach the Titans’ excellent goal-line defence.
And, with two minutes remaining, the Titans went in for two tries from halfback Kelly to seal the result, with the youngster showing outstanding footwork.
