Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane believes his side are set for a tough clash against Salford tonight – but says if his side play how they can, they’ll be tough to beat.
The Warriors face the Red Devils in a game moved forward 24 hours from Friday to Thursday, with both sides having played at the weekend.
The Devils beat Widnes on Sunday whilst Wigan lost to Brisbane on Saturday, and although they both face relatively short turnarounds, Wane insists that if his side are on top of their game on Thursday, they will certainly give Salford a challenge.
“We know it’s a tough game against Salford. We had a tough clash against Brisbane so I need to look after my players, but if we fix the simple things we need to fix from the Brisbane game, we’ll challenge Salford.
“I’m just looking for a more improved performance on the technical side of things. When we attack really well we’re tough to beat, and if our halves our on – which they will be this week – we’ll go well.
“They’ve got some good players and some big names so we know they’re a tough side, but if we play well we can challenge them.”
