Warrington Wolves reveal 2017 squad numbers

Warrington Wolves have revealed their 2017 squad numbers: with some significant changes from the class of 2016.

The headline is that utility Stefan Ratchford has been handed the number one shirt; hinting that he will continue at fullback and Kurt Gidley – who he has swapped numbers with, Gidley wearing number six – will be stand-off.

Two of Warrington’s new recruits have been handed numbers in the starting 17; with Mike Cooper and Dom Crosby wearing 14 and 17 respectively.

New signing from St Helens, Andre Savelio, wears 18, while returning Wolves man Matty Blythe gets 21.

Interestingly, club legend Ben Westwood has reverted back to the number 34 shirt he first wore as a Warrington player way back when – and the club have not given a squad number to Ben Harrison. He is in talks with a fellow Super League club about a season-long loan elsewhere.
