Watkins want birthday present to remember

Leeds Rhinos centre Kallum Watkins is hoping for a birthday to remember this year and know the best way to celebrate will be with a win at Warrington on Friday.

Watkins turned 24 today (Thursday) and is more than happy to wait 24 hours for the perfect present.

“Warrington is a tough place to win for all teams and we haven’t managed to get the right results there for the the past couple of years,” he told Rhinos TV.

“We have trained well this week and the preparation has been good so we are looking forward to the challenge.

“The atmosphere there is massive there and the way we have started games there in the past hasn’t been good. They have got a roll on straight away and got some early tries to start with before we got going.

“It is important that we get a good start, complete our sets being good with the ball. Defensively we have been good this season an we need to carry on with that on Friday.”

After successfully returning from a knee injury at Hunslet last week, Brett Delaney returns to the squad, while young fullback Ashton Golding is also included.
