Wests Warriors enjoy stunning Challenge Cup success over Eastern Rhinos

WESTS WARRIORS booked a home tie against the British Army or the RAF in the Challenge Cup second round with a stunning 66-4 win at EASTERN RHINOS in the all-Southern Conference League clash.

The Warriors returned to London from Colchester reflecting on a twelve-try success in which Reiss Walker totalled 30 points with a hat-trick of tries and nine goals.

The visitors were already 28-0 up before Walker grabbed his first try, on the cusp of half-time, to help forge a 34-0 lead at the break.

William Poching – son of former Super League star Willie – had already bagged a brace in the opening exchanges, while Jack Payne claimed the first two of his three tries.

Harrison Nichols grabbed the Warriors’ other first-half touchdown, while Tyler Johnson-Thomas crashed over twice in the first six minutes of the second period.

Paul McCullough snared Wests’ other try, on the hour, while the Rhinos at least had the consolation of having the last word, Ash Toomey dotting down on 78 minutes.
