What Leeds Rhinos boss Brad Arthur said about Tom Holroyd-George Hill incident during Castleford Tigers fixture

LEEDS RHINOS prop Tom Holroyd faces a lengthy ban after being charged with Grade E Dangerous Contact in the aftermath of his side’s 38-24 win over Castleford Tigers yesterday.

A Grade E charge leads straight to an Operational Rules Tribunal which could result in Holroyd being sat out for a number of weeks.

The incident took place with Castleford’s George Hill and Holroyd becoming tangled in a tackle with the latter appearing to hold the former’s arm on the ground.

After the game, however, Leeds boss Brad Arthur believed that Holroyd was just fighting for a quick play-the-ball.

“I think he (Tom) was just fighting to get up and play the ball quick,” Arthur said.

“He’s a big, strong man, and he’s earned the right to play the ball quick. There are a lot of spoiling tactics around him. He’s just trying to play the ball quickly and get himself released to play it.

“I thought it was handled pretty well by the ref. No penalty and it just let go. I thought he did a pretty good job of it.”
