Wheelchair Rugby League course on offer in Manchester

MANCUNIANS, who are launching a Wheelchair Rugby League team, have lined up a game with Rochdale Hornets.

The club has, meanwhile, organised a couple of courses for would-be players who are not wheelchair users.

The first course – ABC of Sports Wheelchair movement, which has been developed with the support of British Wheelchair Basketball, English Athletics, EFDS, the Tennis Foundation and the wheelchair manufacturer RGK – is a practical workshop, lasting over two hours, which focuses on understanding the basic movement principles, and on setting up and maintaining a sports wheelchair.

Participants will, after the course, have learned how to support the development of core wheelchair movement skills related to sport and physical activity.

The course, on Saturday 15 July at Hough End Police Club, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton, Manchester M21 7SX, will run from 1.00pm. The cost is £10 (£5 for participants who bring their own sports wheelchair), and bookings can be made by visiting https://mancunians.club/product/abc-of-sports-wheelchair-movement-july-15th-2017/

Only 12 places are available – the deadline for bookings is Saturday (1 July).
