Widnes pick up massive win over Salford

Two late tries saw Widnes Vikings pick up a crucial 24-16 victory over Salford Red Devils.

Ian Watson’s side entered the final 10 minutes 16-12 ahead, but Greg Burke and Aaron Heremaia scored late on to secure the Vikings their third win of the season.

Salford entered half-time 10-6 ahead. Craig Kocpzak and Chris Dean had scored for their respective sides while Lui kicked two goals for Salford.

The teams exchanged further tries through Krisnan Inu and Weller Hauraki, before Widnes snatched it in the closing stages.
