Johnstone signs new terms at Widnes

Young half-back Jordan Johnstone has signed a new two-year senior deal with Widnes.

Cumbrian Johnstone made his Super League debut against Catalans Dragons earlier this month and scored in the club’s recent Challenge Cup victory over Rochdale.

“These past couple of weeks have been crazy and have gone so fast,” said Johnstone.

From getting the call from Brett Hodgson to say that I am debuting in Catalans, to signing a senior contract with the club, it’s just really crazy how fast it has all happened.

“I am made up and can not wait to be a part of what is to come with the Vikings over the coming seasons.”

“We brought Jordan in a couple of years ago when he was playing for Whitehaven and he has improved game on game,” said head coach Denis Betts. He found his level playing in his own age group and dominated it.

“He is a physical, strong young player who we believe has a promising professional career and Super League future. I look forward to seeing him grow and working with him over the coming years.”
