Wigan Warriors player banned for doping breach

UK Anti-Doping has handed down a two-year suspension to Rhys Pugsley after he was found guilty of breaching the RFL’s anti-doping regulations.

Pugsley, a player registered with the Wigan Warriors Academy, tested positive for metabolites of methandienone, an anabolic steroid.  Methandienone was detected in a sample provided at an out-of-competition test on April 22, 2014.

The suspension applies from May 15, 2014.
