Wolves bolster senior Academy

Warrington Wolves have promoted seven rising stars to the U19s Academy ahead of the 2014 season.
Brad Stanway (Rylands), James Jones (Rylands), Andrew Philbin (Culcheth), Ben Stansfield (Ince Rose Bridge), Declan Kay (Shevington Sharks) and junior internationals Harvey Livett (Rylands) and Morgan Nicholas (Rylands) have all progressed through the U16s Academy .
“It’s a great day for any junior player to sign a professional contract and these players have worked incredibly hard to achieve the first of many of their professional goals” commented Ben Lazenby, Player Performance Manager. “We have signed here some marvellously talented young players who will develop into fine footballers, from tough rugged forwards in Andrew Philbin and James Jones through to deft, gifted footballers with great vision in Brad Stanway, Declan Kay and Ben Stansfield.
“These young men are at the start of their journey; they need to be consistent in showing development and improvement in their footballing ability and athletic development alongside their personal qualities. They wouldn’t be part of our set-up if we thought they had poor personal qualities, but now they must work even harder, dig even deeper and demonstrate their mental determination to succeed in order to continue on their exciting journey, they will have tough choices to make and a step up in intensity of training to contend with but it is also an enjoyable journey with many positive experiences to remember for a lifetime.”
