Wolves roster full, says Tony Smith

Warrington coach Tony Smith has revealed the Wolves don’t expect to make any more pre-season signings.

The eight-time Challenge Cup winners have brought in three high-profile names for 2015 – St Helens’ Gary Wheeler, Ashton Sims from North Queensland and Castleford’s Daryl Clark – and will only dip into the market again if their hand is forced.

“We’re pretty full, it’s just the three recruits with Daryl, Ashton and Gary,” Smith told League Express.

“Something dramatic would have to happen for us to go and look for something else.

“In saying that, I’m ecstatic about our squad for the upcoming season. We’ve got some terrific young boys coming through in Philbin and the King boys, and young Declan Patton.

“It’s very exciting, along with the Ben Curries and the Laithwaites who have had a fair bit of first-team Rugby League now. We’re looking forward to another solid year, and hopefully we’ll be up there competing again.”
