Tykes launch defence of Tri-Series County Championship titles at York Acorn

THE 2018 BARLA County Tri-Series Championships at Open Age and Under 19s swing into action on Saturday (3 November) when Yorkshire entertain Cumbria in a double-header at York Acorn.

Yorkshire, who are reigning champions at both age groups, will also feature in the last games of the series with a visit to Lancashire on Sunday 18 November. That double-header will be hosted by Leigh Miners Rangers.

Cumbria, meanwhile, entertain Lancashire at Millom on Saturday 10 November.

This week’s games kick off at 1.00pm and 3.00pm respectively and will be streamed live, and exclusively, on the ‘OuRLeague’ through the Our League App, which will also take in the subsequent fixtures.

BARLA Chair Sue Taylor said: “We are delighted that six games will be streamed live on OuRLeague, which has already been such a success in the professional game.

“Viewers will be able to see what it means to players to play for their respective counties and I urge all Rugby League supporters to download the Our League app, if they haven’t already done so, and take in the action.”

Marc Lovering, Director of Participation and Development for the RFL, added “We will be showcasing a wide variety of representative Rugby League through OuRLeague over the next couple of months, including all the games featuring the touring Australian Schoolboys side.

“The BARLA County Championship is a long established competition that always catches the imagination of Rugby League fans and we are grateful to BARLA for the opportunity to bring it to a much wider audience.”

Grassroots fans can visit Rugby-league.com/membership to register, or the Our League app can be downloaded at Google Play and the App Store.
