YORK VALKYRIE put in a strong and dominant performance against fellow Super League side Huddersfield Giants with an eleven-try win.
New signing Ellie Williamson was involved in much of what York produced, but it was star winger Eboni Partington who led the way with a well-taken hat-trick.
Williamson and Partington crossed in the opening eleven minutes, with both trirs converted by the former, before Jazz Rampton went in down the left for York’s third.
By the time Partington went in for her second, York were 20-0 up inside as many minutes.
Further first-half tries followed for Rhiannion Marshall and the returning Sinead Peach, with Williamson converting both for a 32-0 led at the break.
With Huddersfield down to twelve for the early stages of the second half following Bethan Oates’ sin-binning for a late hit, York were able to come out just as dominant, and within three minutes, Rampton had her second, charging through the middle to score.
Partington completed her hat-trick on 52 minutes, with Tamzin Renouf getting on the end of a grubber kick five minutes later to further add to York’s tally.
Little over ten minutes later, Renouf had her second, then Savannah Andrade showed great strength to get over the line.
Williamson was successful with conversions twice more in the second half and York were celebrating a big start to their season.
