Sunday’s Xamax BARLA Yorkshire Cup Final has been called off.
The game has been postponed, together with the Xamax Under 18s Yorkshire Cup Final and the Women’s Origin Match, because of, League Express understands, an unfit pitch.
BARLA Secretary Phil Sharpe said: “It is with great regret that the weather has cancelled the chance of playing BARLA Yorkshire Cup U18s and Open Age Finals, and the Women’s County of Origin game, on Sunday 31 January.
“The games are rescheduled for Sunday 14 February at the South Leeds Stadium, Hunslet.”
He added: “We do apologise for this but this can always be the outcome of playing at a professional club in bad weather.”
Fryston Warriors and North Hull Knights, who are contesting the Yorkshire Cup Final, will therefore try again on Valentine’s Day, while Skirlaugh and Dewsbury Moor will meet in the Under 18s decider.
Lancashire and Yorkshire are set to square up in the Women’s Origin clash.
