Yorkshire Cup hangover

POLICE were called to the South Leeds Stadium after fighting erupted between players and supporters of both sides following Sunday’s Xamax BARLA Yorkshire Cup Final between Fryston Warriors and North Hull Knights.

The altercation is understood to have occurred in the players’ bar as both sides gathered for post-match food.

The Women’s Origin Match between Lancashire and Yorkshire, which was taking place at the time as part of a triple-header, was halted by the police but allowed to resume once the stadium had been cleared of anyone not involved with that fixture.

BARLA have launched an investigation.

Fryston had won the game 50-10.
