The combined Services Rugby League Association (CSRLA) has joined the Parliamentary Rugby League Group as an Associate Member, alongside the RFL, BARLA, Pro-Build
Assist Ltd and individual associate members.

The Group welcomes any individual or organisation as an Associate Member, if they share the Group’s singular role of supporting the sport of rugby league football.

The Group’s Chairman Greg Mulholland officially welcomed the CSRLA to its first meeting on 30th October with the comments, “We are proud to have been joined by the Combined Services Rugby League. Many in the Group have undergone the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme to learn more about our forces, and we include a former Defence Minister in our own ranks”.

He added, “We know that rugby league is strong in all our armed forces with regular unit and representative level competitions. We are looking forward to the Combined Services team taking on their military counterparts as part of the Festival of World Cups next year.”

Chief Technician Jason Talbot, the Combined Services Rugby League Secretary said “sport plays an incredibly important role in Britain’s armed forces. Rugby league in particular is an ideal vehicle for servicemen and women to display the same commitment, passion, discipline and levels of physical fitness required on operations. The Parliamentary Group played a pivotal role in ensuring rugby league was recognised as a Sport within the Services and we are very proud to be associated with the Group.”

Information on the Combined Services Rugby League Association can be found here.

More information about the Parliamentary Rugby League Group, including details on joining, can be found at the Group’s website: www.apprlg.org.uk.
