London Broncos have secured a deal to keep hooker Andy Ackers at the club until the end of the 2018 season.
The 22-year-old hooker has been in sensational form since his arrival from Swinton, scoring four tries in 12 appearances this season.
“Ackers has really impressed in his first season with the Broncos,” Broncos head coach Andrew Henderson told the club’s official website.
“He’s continually improving as a player and has been a strong performer on a match day. The number of appearances he has made reflects that.
“Building an honest, humble, and strong, united group who inspire our youngsters and rugby league down south is something we’ve been concentrating a lot of our efforts on this season. Ackers has been fantastic in buying into this and representing these values. He’s exactly the type of player and person to take this great club in the direction we want it to head in.”
Ackers added: “I’m really happy to be staying on with the club. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far, and it’s fantastic to be offered the chance to keep doing the work we’re doing.
“Obviously we’ve had a strong start to the season in 2016, but we’ve definitely worked hard for it. We’d like to continue to put in the hard yards and only improve further from here, and I’m really pleased I’ll be around for that.
“It’s a really solid group of boys, and a club I’m very proud to be a part of.”
