Huddersfield’s recruitment search goes on

Huddersfield Giants are still in the process of completing new signings, with the club unable to announce anything at this stage.

Head coach Paul Anderson has been actively trying to add depth to his squad since the beginning of the season following the sudden departures of Brett Ferres and Luke Robinson along with a number of injury issues.

However, the Giants have yet to bolster their pack, with Anderson missing out on the signing of Danny Tickle after he joined Castleford last month.

But discussions have never stopped since, with Leigh forward Reni Maitua one name recently mentioned as a target of Anderson’s, although the Huddersfield chief cooled talks on that speculation following their victory over Leeds last Friday.

It is understood that Huddersfield are currently in the process of securing a deal for a Pacific Island forward from the NRL, however this has been strongly denied by the club too.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield have also failed to secure a deal for winger Gene Ormsby, who spent time on loan at the club but is now back at Warrington.

More on Huddersfield’s recruitment and their attempts to sign Gene Ormsby can be found in this week’s League Express.
